Tom Mitchell is the Chief Financial Officer for the Frye Art Museum. He has 35 years of professional experience in finance and operations, in both for profit and non-profit settings. He began his career as a financial analyst with American Airlines after completing his MBA from the University of Washington, and served in a variety of roles including as the Controller for Flight Services at its Chicago O’Hare hub. After 15 years, he served as a consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, in the high-growth middle market with a focus on financial systems needs analysis, design and implementation. This was followed by 10 years at Providence Health & Services, overseeing budgeting and decisions support for the Washington region, and serving as the licensed administrator of a post-acute care facility. Tom’s non-profit work also includes three years at the CFO/COO at both United Way of King County and National CASA/GAL. He has served on a number of non-profit boards including in the roles of Board President and Treasurer. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant.
