Angela Murray is an experienced human services nonprofit executive. She is the first executive director of Washington CASA Association, founded in 2019. Previously she led The Sophia Way, an organization serving women experiencing homelessness in the Eastside of King County, Washington. While at The Sophia Way she expanded the organization’s capacity to meet the rapidly growing homeless population, while also fostering cross-sector partnerships to get ahead of the issues prompting the rise in homeless. She brings considerable expertise in resource development, stakeholder engagement, operational management and capacity building, social impact innovation, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. A former school teacher, Murray shows her passion for serving children and youth. She endeavors to learn from and work with CASA programs and volunteers around the state to help them serve children who have experienced abuse or neglect, and partnering with other stakeholders to address the underlying causes that lead to placement of children in foster care.
